Painter Nguyen Hong Duc was born in 1980. He graduated with a major in lacquer at Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Arts in 2009. He now lives and works in Ho Chi Minh City.

After a long time experiencing the art environment and participating in both local and international art activities, he has left his mark through many exhibitions such as "Meet" (2017), “Wave” (2018) and “Random” (2021). In the Vietnamese Contemporary Art scene, he has successfully established his unique standing and achieved many prizes from the Fine Arts Association.

Artist Nguyen Hong Duc once said that his impulses for art always flow naturally and effortlessly. He uses abstract expressionism to represent the dialogues, in which though a general narrative was shown, we also can see other unique stories from each separated character. There, with his distinctive drawing technique and creativity, he has discovered a personal multi-dimensional viewpoint that only he has regarding the interaction between people. In short, his paintings combine cubism, abstract expressionism, and tales that never fail to leave a lasting impact from the very first encounter.
